Band Camp August 2019

SCHEDULE HAS NOT YET BEEN SET FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR. UPDATES WILL BE EMAILED DIRECTLY TO STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Schedule:
August th; Section Leaders, Drum Majors, and Uniform Committee ONLY from 10a-12p

                      Meet in the WHS Cafeteria for planning meeting (may finish early) and set-up
                      All section leaders/ drum majors should be fit for uniforms during this time
                      Run all band bonding games, assign tasks, and the minute-by-minute will be passed out
August th-th; Full Band/Color Guard 8a-2p Meet in the WHS Cafeteria
                       Monday focus: Uniform fitting with parent volunteers, everyone has the correct pep band/competition
                       march music, sectional groups established, ice breakers (in sections), physicality of marching/air
                       building
                       Tuesday focus: Physicality of marching, air building, (new) pep band music read through, memorize 1st
                       and 2nd strain of , section work to build consistency, introduce block marching
                       Wednesday focus: Air building, perfecting the glide stride, physical consistency across sections, block
                       marching with warm-ups, memorize the trio of , pep band rehearsal for 1st day of school,
                       sectionals for pep band music
                       Thursday focus: Air building and endurance training, memorizing the dog fight in , block                                                   marching Invictus (at least up to trio), continued rehearsal of pep band music, schedule of 1st day given                         out to all members-- if participating in the pizza party luncheon, please give the check in person your                         $5 by this day (includes drinks, pizza, salad, dessert)
                       Friday focus: Spot checking , block marching, PIZZA PARTY, final drill downs 

What to bring:
Reusable water bottle labeled with your name
Comfortable work out clothing, NO JEANS
Comfortable shoes, NO FLIP FLOPS
Instrument (including swabs, oil, grease, extra reeds, whatever you need)
Flip folder + extra windows
Music that you have already printed out
A PENCIL,not a pen, a PENCIL
Either a bag lunch or $$ for off campus food*

​*If you go off campus you are REQUIRED to be back and checked in 5 minutes prior to starting time


Check ins and outs

All students must check in/out with Ms. Mitchell at the booth by the Cafeteria. Monday-Thursday the booth will be inside of the Cafeteria, Friday it will be located outside of the Cafeteria in order to give space to the Leadership crew setting up for MAZE day.

Check ins and outs are separated by section; be responsible- arriving back earlier is better than on time/later.
